The Exploding Plastic Inevitable

Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground's Exploding Plastic Inevitable created a new media of art by utilizing multi-media (both in terms of audio-visual multimedia and multiple mediums). Unfortunately, the very elements that lead to their success (counterculture, sex, drugs, and an inability to be neatly confined to a specific genre or label in art history) also make it incredibly difficult to find scholarly research on them.
